April 6th through 16th, 2022
Opening Reception: Thursday, April 7th, 4 – 6 pm

There is no doubt that headwear is a prominent means of human expression that has the unique ability to evoke feelings, embody the personality, and communicate ideas. Placed into the context of controversy, function, trend, and culture, consider how the choices made when designing and or wearing this fashion accessory are a reflection of personal and collective identity. Drawing on over a century of creative ingenuity, this exhibition explores how individuals, groups, and society as a whole incorporate hats into a symbolic wardrobe.
This installation is the first face-to-face exhibit associated with the Lasell Fashion Collection since the pandemic began. The students involved in this project are excited to share their work with the public and hope that attendees will wear their favorite hat.
