This show represents the recent personal artwork of Weston Public Schools Art Faculty: Margaret Burns, Cat Ciccolo, Chris Fehl, Julie Hom-Mandell, Bekki Kowalski, Dana Lanciloti, Colleen Lucas and Jacob Ginga.
A love of art brought this group of artist/teachers together at Weston, and while our primary focus is on developing the artist within each of our students, we continue to pursue our original passion for making art. For some of us, our personal art is a way to discover new methods and techniques to bring to our classes. For some, techniques explored in our classes influence our individual quests. For others, we walk in the footsteps of our favorite artists bringing a refreshing and deeper understanding of the history of art. Most importantly, the challenge of making art keeps us empathetic with the experimentations, frustrations, and joy faced and discovered by our students in their own creative development. We each feel honored for the opportunity to exhibit with such a dynamic team of art teachers, reflecting on our personal creative growth over the past five years.
