Artists’ Reception: Sunday, February 9, 3 – 5 pm
Participating artists: Patricia Burson, Ellen Fisher, Claire Gerard, Bror Hultgren, Susan B. Jones, Elaine Sapochetti, Claire Sasahara, Barbara Trachtenberg, Leonora Wolfeld.
The people in the crit group, (Critters, as they call themselves) are mostly artists. They worked in a variety of media and with little feedback. The Crit Group formed gradually as each artist sought objectivity and fellowship.
There are three weeks between meetings to allow time for new work and revisions. What soon became apparent to me was the objectivity they acquired when responding to each other’s work became an available tool for judging their own. The individuality has persisted as their own work has benefitted.
